Dec. 13, 2016Taking the Show on the Road

What do you get when you combine one of HPM's long term veteran employees with one of our newest and put them in front of high school students?  An amazing demonstration of what a career in manufacturing can do!!!

Earlier this month, VP of Sales Engineering Jim Gaffke and VP of Operations Jeff Morin participated in the White Bear Lake Area High School Career Pathways night at the WBL South Campus.  They had the opportunity to showcase HPM's capabilities in manufacturing services to high schoolers and their parents.  The goal:  let kids know that not everyone needs to go to college to get a good job.  As our newest hire Jeff took it all in, Jim stole the show by enthusiastically sharing HPM's work.  At times, he had a crowd of kids and parents surrounding the booth trying to learn as much as they could.  What kind of jobs are available in manufacturing?  What kind of skills do you need?  What are the hours? Pay?  You asked it, Jim and Jeff answered it.

"At one point, we had so many people at our booth listening to us tell them about how awesome careers in manufacturing are, that we even had a parent say he wanted to work at HPM," said Jim.  "He was very impressive in his delivery to the students," said Jeff. "You could tell how passionate he is about the work we do and that resonated with everyone."

HPM President Tim Herold is always willing to get involved with spreading the word about the amazing careers folks can find in manufacturing.  Partnering with the White Bear Lake schools is just one way we do that.

Did you miss the career fair?  We are always available for tours or to answer questions about the work we do.  Feel free to call or stop by anytime!
