Prototypes are a very important part of HPM's business. Helping our customers bring their ideas and drawings to life is an honor and one we take very seriously.
Many times we are asked the question, "What is your lead time on prototypes?" So much so that our President, Tim Herold, put together a playbook or guideline if you will to help answer this question. He ranked the lead time by type of order (A-D) and included a description for each. For instance, a flat part that only needs to be sheared, laser cut and maybe some secondary ops, would only take 1-5 working days depending on the finish requirements. A fully formed part, multi-part item, weld, spot-weld, and/or assembly order would take 8-15 working days, again depending on the finish requirements. Now, take all this with a grain of salt as we have been known to break our own guidelines and get parts turned quicker if our customer needs it.
